(News Portal – Dong Nai) - On the afternoon of August 14, Vice Chairwoman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Thi Hoang, along with leaders from relevant departments and sectors, met with Mrs. Park Kyung Ae, the newly appointed Chief Representative of Jeollanam Province's Office in Ho Chi Minh City.

Mrs. Park Kyung Ae expressed that Dong Nai Province has left a profound and positive impression. She hopes that through this activity, the relationship between the two provinces and countries will continue to strengthen. The two provinces share many similarities: Jeollanam Province has more than 70 large industrial zones and many famous tourist attractions. It is a place that can connect urban and rural areas, boasting a long history with a diverse cultural tradition. She hopes to foster a closer relationship between the two provinces. Mrs. Park Kyung Ae hopes that during her two-year term, cooperation with Dong Nai will be strengthened to successfully organize several projects, especially in tourism and culture. Specifically, in the near future, Jeollanam Province wants to implement a television project promoting the cooperative relationship between Jeollanam and several provinces and cities in Vietnam. They hope Dong Nai will introduce a famous tourist destination to participate in this project.

Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Hoang congratulated Mrs. Park Kyung Ae on her new assignment as the Chief Representative of Jeollanam Province's Office in Ho Chi Minh City. The provincial leaders also highlighted Dong Nai's strengths, ranking among the top in Vietnam with numerous operational industrial zones. To date, the province has attracted investments from 46 countries and territories with 1,660 projects, totaling over 34.7 billion USD. Among these, South Korea leads in both the number of projects and total investment capital, with 415 projects and a total investment of 7.3 billion USD. In terms of international cooperation, Dong Nai Province has signed 40 Memorandums of Understanding and international cooperation agreements at the provincial level with 12 countries worldwide and has re-signed 13 of these. Notably, there are 11 provincial-level and 22 departmental and sectoral-level MoUs and agreements signed with South Korean localities and partners.

Dong Nai Province and Jeollanam Province signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the new energy industrial sector in 2019. At the end of April, during the Dong Nai delegation's visit to Jeollanam, leaders of both localities signed a Letter of Intent for cooperation. It is expected that by the end of September 2024, Dong Nai Province will participate in the Asia regional international exchange program in Jeollanam Province.
