(News Portal – Dong Nai) - The Ministry of Transport has officially approved the construction project of the Dau Giay - Tan Phu Expressway (Phase 1), a component project within the overall Dau Giay - Lian Khuong Expressway, under the public-private partnership (PPP).
The Dau Giay - Tan Phu Expressway will connect with the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, contributing to traffic decongestion and ensuring safety on National Highway 20
Nearly 9 trillion VND in Total investment capital
According to the approval decision by the Ministry of Transport, the Dau Giay - Tan Phu Expressway will be over 60km long. The starting point of the route is at Km0+000, the area of the interchange with National Highway 1 connecting with the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thành - Dau Giay Expressway, in Dau Giay town, Thong Nhat district; the endpoint is at Km60+243.83 (end of the scope of the interchange with National Highway 20), connecting with the Tan Phu - Bao Loc Expressway, in Phu Trung commune, Tan Phu district.
In Phase 1, the Dau Giay - Tan Phu Expressway will be a limited 4-lane road, without continuous emergency stopping lanes, with a roadbed width of 17 m. In the complete phase, the route will have 4 lanes with continuous emergency stopping lanes, a cross-section width of 24 m, and a design speed of 100 km/h. Additionally, the route will include 26 overpasses, 4 interchange bridges, 24 wildlife crossing tunnels, and 31 km of side roads combined with wildlife crossing tunnels and overpasses to ensure traffic connectivity and minimize the impact on the livelihood of residents on both sides.
The project has a total investment of nearly 9 trillion VND, with nearly 7.7 trillion VND raised by investors and 1.3 trillion VND from the state. According to the approved investment plan, the project will also include rest stops at Km40, with a scale of 3 hectares on each side. The cost of site clearance for constructing the rest stops is included in the project's total investment. The approved investment plan calculates the toll collection period for the Dau Giay - Tan Phu Expressway project as 18 years, 2 months, and 11 days.
Prioritizing site clearance work
The Dau Giay - Tan Phu Expressway is being constructed to meet transport demands, reduce congestion, and ensure traffic safety on National Highway 20. The completion and synchronized operation of major, safe, and high-speed expressways in the Ho Chi Minh City - Dau Giay - Lien Khuong transport corridor aim to boost the socio-economic development of Dong Nai province specifically and the Southeast region in general. Furthermore, it is set to motivate connectivity, foster cooperation, and develop the Southeast region with the Mekong Delta, Central Highlands, and South Central regions.
The Dau Giay - Tan Phu Expressway entirely traverses Dong Nai province. Therefore, the local authority will also be responsible for the site clearance work for the project's construction. For this project, the site clearance work is being executed in accordance with the complete phase, with a total land area of approximately 378 hectares to be acquired.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Cuong, Deputy Chairman of the People's Committee of Thong Nhat district, stated that three resettlement areas are currently under construction in the district. However, initial statistics show that the project mainly passes through fallow and rubber land, thus not requiring the resettlement of residents.
Similarly, the People's Committee of Dinh Quan district indicated that the number of households needing resettlement for the Dau Giay - Tan Phu Expressway Project is minimal. Nonetheless, the locality has proactively planned resettlement areas in Phu Ngoc and Gia Canh communes to accommodate residents.
In Tan Phu district, Mr. Pham Duy Thi, Deputy Chairman of the People's Committee, noted that to serve the Dau Giay - Tan Phu Expressway Project passing through the area, the locality needs to acquire approximately 125 hectares of land, affecting around 86 households. Of these, about 60 households will be arranged for resettlement. Moreover, Tan Phu district will also need to arrange resettlement for approximately 120 households affected by the Tan Phu - Bao Loc Expressway Project.
Currently, the provincial People's Committee has approved, and the People's Committee of Tan Phu district has assigned the district's Project Management Board to prepare an investment project for constructing a 12-hectare resettlement area, planned for the industrial cluster in Phu Binh commune to arrange resettlement for affected residents.
