Dong Nai ranked third in the Provincial Green Index in 2023.

Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Trong Toan shared that to maintain and further improve the PGI in the coming period, the province will focus on four major solutions for environmental management.

Specifically, the first solution is to minimize environmental pollution through regular and unscheduled monitoring and inspection, promptly addressing and strictly handling acts of discharging wastewater and industrial emissions that exceed standards into the environment. Industrial zones are urged to complete the installation of continuous automatic wastewater monitoring systems and connect data to relevant authorities for supervision by December 31, 2024.

Another solution is to enhance monitor compliance with environmental standards and regulations, particularly adherence to the environmental permits of businesses. Guidance and correction are provided to production, business, service facilities, and industrial infrastructure investors to strictly comply with the Environmental Protection Law of 2020.

The third solution promotes green practices by guiding production facilities to conserve water and apply advanced technologies for wastewater treatment and reuse. Enterprises are also advised and supported in saving electricity and investing in renewable energy development for production.

The final solution involves developing a provincial plan for waste prevention and response, identifying potential sources of incidents, incident scenarios, and necessary equipment for incident prevention. There will be increased monitoring of water and air quality to promptly inform, warn, and implement appropriate remedial solutions.
