During the meeting with provincial leaders, Ambassador Thomas Gass highlighted the impressive results achieved in the relations between Viet Nam and Switzerland over recent years. Switzerland has notably contributed to enhancing the quality value of Vietnamese coffee, bringing high-quality, finished coffee products to the global market. Ambassador Gass expressed belief that Dong Nai plays a crucial role in the Vietnam-Switzerland relationship, characterized by mutual support and innovative cooperation in recent years.

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Hong Linh noted that Dong Nai is the second most populous province in the southern region. The province holds significant potential for tourism development, benefiting from its diverse ecosystem, the natural landscape of Cat Tien National Park, and the Dong Nai River, the longest inland river in the country. Additionally, Dong Nai has favorable conditions with five modes of transportation (air, road, river, sea, and rail), a comprehensive port system, and strengths in developing logistics, high-tech industry, services, and tourism. To attract investment, provincial leaders regularly engage with foreign direct investors (FDI) to promptly address any difficulties or obstacles they encounter.

To date, Dong Nai has attracted nearly USD 35 billion in foreign investment. Among these, Switzerland has eight projects in the province, with a total investment of over USD 861 million. Swiss enterprises currently operate stably in Dong Nai, with notable projects such as Nestlé Vietnam Ltd. in Amata Industrial Park, Bien Hoa City, with an investment of USD 830 million, and Swarovski Vietnam Manufacturing Ltd. in Amata Industrial Park with a total investment of USD 80 million.

Secretary Nguyen Hong Linh hopes that Ambassador Thomas Gass will serve as an effective bridge to introduce Swiss businesses to explore, conduct business, and invest in Dong Nai, as well as to facilitate the activities of charitable organizations. Dong Nai province pledges to create the most favorable conditions, in accordance with Vietnamese law, for foreign businesses to collaborate and invest in the province, thereby promoting economic and social exchange and development between the two parties.
