According to businesses, a positive sign in the last months of 2023 is that the amount of new orders has been increasing and works will be guaranteed for workers until the first quarter of 2024. As a result, businesses are accelerating the recruitment of new workers. Regarding the 2024 Lunar New Year, trade unions have negotiated with business owners to have a Tet bonus for workers of at least 1 month's salary. In addition, the unions also give gifts to workers from 500,000 VND to 1 million VND per gift; at the same time, support bus tickets price from 30% - 50% or organize buses to take workers back to their hometowns to celebrate Tet. Regarding the Tet holiday, some businesses give workers a long time off to have time celebrating the holiday with their families.
The units proposed that the province's authorities pay attention to ensuring safety and order for workers during Tet; at the same time, to come up with solutions to prevent "black credit" from spreading in industrial parks, boarding houses... Regarding some recommendations related to social insurance and regional minimum wage, representatives of related departments and sectors responded specifically and promptly.
At the conference, Chairwoman of the Provincial Confederation of Labor
Nguyen Thi Nhu Y said that the unit highly appreciated the efforts of trade
unions in ensuring jobs and benefits for workers. Regarding the opinions of trade
union officials, the Provincial Confederation of Labor and general authorities,
there will be solutions to deal with the obstacles in the coming time. In the
last months of the year, Ms. Y requested grassroots trade unions to promptly
sympathize with employees’ feelings, wishes, and aspirations and maintain good
labor relations; at the same time, coordinate with businesses to provide a safe
and warm Tet holiday for union members and workers.
