Continue to Relocate Livestock and Industrial Facilities Not in Line with Provincial Planning

(News Portal – Dong Nai) - On August 6, the Provincial People's Committee held a socio-economic briefing conference for July and the first seven months of 2024. The conference was attended and chaired by Member of the Party Central Committee, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Hong Linh; Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Thai Bao; Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc; and Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai Province Vu Dinh Trung.

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Hong Linh spoke at the socio-economic briefing conference for July and the first seven months of 2024.  

In his directive speech at the conference, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Hong Linh emphasized that the province plans to relocate 3,000 livestock facilities that do not meet planning requirements. To date, 1,300 facilities have been relocated, and localities must continue to focus aggressively on relocating the remaining facilities. Additionally, localities must control and have a plan to relocate industrial production facilities that exist outside of planning, located within residential areas. The Provincial Party Secretary also urged the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee to direct relevant units to develop strategies to prepare a high-quality workforce for long-term development over the next 5-10 years, including a workforce serving the Long Thanh International Airport. Accelerate the progress of service development projects serving Long Thanh Airport.

The Provincial Party Secretary also noted that in July, the provincial authorities made significant efforts to boost economic development. Achievements included increased foreign direct investment (FDI) and social investment attraction.

According to Acting Chairman Vo Tan Duc, despite the achievements, the province's economic and social development in the first seven months still faces some shortcomings and limitations. The disbursement rate of public investment capital remains low. The work on construction planning, urban planning, and zoning planning has been focused on but progresses slowly. Land clearance for key projects has seen positive changes but has not yet met requirements. To date, the province has not successfully auctioned any of the 18 land plots slated for auction in 2024.

Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc spoke at the conference. 

Acting Chairman Vo Tan Duc urged departments, sectors, and localities to continue closely monitoring and promptly resolving obstacles to promote the disbursement of public investment capital and land clearance for projects. The Department of Planning and Investment is to coordinate with relevant agencies to advise the Provincial People's Committee in organizing a successful conference to announce the provincial plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, as well as the investment promotion conference.

The report from the Department of Planning and Investment indicates that the socio-economic development results in July and the first seven months in the province have been positive. Industrial production, agriculture, and trade and services indices achieved satisfactory results. Total state budget revenue for the first seven months reached approximately 35.8 trillion VND, meeting 65% of the central government estimate and 64% of the provincial People's Council estimate, up 10% compared to the same period; export turnover is estimated at over 13 billion USD, up more than 8% compared to the same period; import turnover is estimated at over 9.5 billion USD; trade surplus reached over 3.7 billion USD.
