Improve railway transport capacity

On the morning of July 3rd, 2012, Vietnam Railways Corporation organized deployment of the business mission for the last 6 months.


​At the conference, many solutions were made to improve railways transport capacity for the last months of 2012 and ensure railways safety. Therefore, a number of key tasks have been carried out: Deploying the project to reduce North-South route down to 28 hours and container transportation project on Yen Vien - Hai Phong railway (when approved by the Ministry of Traffic and Transport). After a general quality and construction progress inspection, the project must be promoted to be completed on schedule, especially the bridge construction project of Dong Nai, Tam Bac and Thi Cau; the separation fence project on roads and railways, the completion of investment and repairing project on degraded railway routes and the western railway route; the development of the application projects on science and technology to ensure safety of the transportation on railway... Railway Corporation also sets up specific targets to increase freight revenue by 10% and passenger service by 12% of.

Implementing the set tasks, Vietnam Railway priorities to focus on the traditional commodities with large quantities such as: Apatite, cement, gypsum, coal, long-way commodities, two-way commodities... the sectors must focus on overcoming shortcomings in order to improve the productivity of coal arrangement for electricity production of Phalai and organize freight transport in Song Than station; organize seventh couple of trains for the specialized in stable Apatite transportation; complete the application of monitoring devices at the back of trains  replacing main carriage on north-south route; purchase reinforcement cranes for road size of 1435mm. Freight transport company operate container service on Yen Vien - Hai Phong and Cai Lan-Kep-Yen Vien routes; signed contracts with customer to improve 200 H carriages loading ore and 30 H vehicles loading gypsum. Vietnam Railways will deploy train operation plan and tickets on Tet holidays; arrange logically the dual passenger on Thong Nhat trains in order to achieve optimal operation efficiency, and improve business efficiency.

In addition, Vietnam Railways regularly carry out supervision for the detection and prevention in hot spots of railway accidents; provide regularly warning at the crossroads with high risk of accident; encourage organizations and individuals to remove unauthorized construction works within the safety boundary of railway traffic; conduct the installation of the convex spherical mirrors and remote device signals at the crossroads without guards. The sector should apply GPS technology to monitor train speed, intensify stable operation warning signals at the crossroads, and change train horns ... /.
