Vietnam to take part in the Hong Kong summit

​According to the journalists of Vietnam news agency in Hong Kong, on July 11th, the second Hong Kong summit was convened at the Hong Kong center for conference and meeting with the participation of approximately 800 representatives from 13 countries and territories in Southern Asia. Focusing on the theme “Territorial collaboration between Hong Kong and Southern Asia”, the summit collected viewpoints of many politicians and scholars.


​Opening the forum, the newly appointed regional chief of Hong Kong Luong Chan Anh stated that during the past decade, Southern Asia has become the strong engine pushing global economic growth. Notwithstanding the European debt crisis and the plummeted economy of the United states, Asian economy will still rise by 6.9% this year and by 7.3% next year. This has pointed out that Asia had triumphed over the current global economic recession. Howerver, Mr. Luong Chan Anh also implied that the nations and regions should enhance the coordination to gain better economic growth.
 
On behalf of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the deputy Nguyen Nam Hai recapitulated some outstanding achievements obtained by Vietnam in recent years, especially in the field of regional and global integration.  Deputy Nguyen Nam Hai determined that Viet Nam is always aware about the regional and international connection and integration will bring benefits to Viet Nam in particular and the region as well as the world in general. Viet Nam government continually continue to support and make every possible effort to promote to the economic and commercial relationship between Viet Nam – China, Viet Nam – Hong Kong and between Southern Asian countries, reaching new levels of development.
