Final report for blood donation campaign – To honor voluntary blood donors in 2012

To promote the advocacy activities for voluntary blood donation in 2012, Dong Nai Province Standing Steering Committee  of advocating voluntary blood donation has organized activities to encourage the community to participate in the program, such as "New year blood donation", "Pink Spring Festival", and " summer Red blood 2012".

The Steering Committees of advocating voluntary blood donation of districts, towns and city have also responded positively to the blood donation movement kicked off by the provincial Steering Committee, making it become more vibrant.

Promising result of the campaigns and events taking place in the entire province has motivated 9,500 people to register for blood donation. There were 37 mobile blood donation events, attracting 9,499 blood donors which was equivalent to 9,499 blood units, reached 41.1% in 2012, exceeding by 164% of the target and expected to meet the demand for emergency and necessary treatments at provincial hospitals for the periods before and after the Lunar New Year and the remaining months of the year.

As for collectives and individuals who gained significant achievement in the movement of voluntary blood donation campaign were honored and rewarded for their positive contribution under the Policy on honor and reward. There were 58 collectives and 68 individuals nominated to be awarded the certificate of merit by the PPC. 54 teams and 53 individuals were proposed to be awarded the certificate of merit for outstanding achievement in advocacy voluntary blood donation in 2012 by the Red Cross Standing Committee.

In 2012 there were 9,350 typical examples who had outstanding achievements were awarded Gold, Silver, Copper badges, donor family icon, such as: Mr. Trinh Cuong - Union Vice President of Sonadezi - and his family have donated their blood 41 times, Mr. Nguyen Hong Quang- Lecturer of Dong Nai Medical College - and his family have donated 25 times. In the province, there were nearly 100 families voluntarily donating blood, of which the most typical families to donate most frequently were the family of Mr. Pham Van Thang, who lives in Phu Dong Commune, Nhon Trach District with 62 blood donation times, family of Ms. Ho Thi Nhu Van – Teacher of La Nga Primary School with 46 blood donation times...
