Meeting of deploying Science and Technology missions in 2007

Mr. Dinh Quoc Thai, a member of the Standing Provincial Party Committee and Vice-President of the Provincial People’s Committee awarded  the excellent emulation flag to Dongnai Department of Science and Technology

2006 is the first year of the 5-year plans of 2006-2010 and the consecutive fourth year that Dongnai Department of Science and Technology has exceeded the set standard plans and unexpected tasks assigned by the Province. The Department’s missions of developing ST potentials, renovating management; performing Human Resource Development Program and ST programs to support the community integration and development as well as setting up models and projects of technology application serving socio-economic growth exceed the set goals and the Department honourly receives from the Prime Minister the excellent emulation flag for the excellent performance of missions in 2005. In particular, it wins two prizes of Sao Khue in 2006 held by Vietnamese Software Association. In the sixth Asia Pacific Information and Communication Technology Competition held in Macao (China), the Department’s attendant product “Secure portal using technology of non standard isolation” was honourly the only product that had won the gold cup among the 14 Vietnamese products. With the results achieved, at the meeting, Dongnai Department of Science and Technology received the excellent emulation flag from the Provincial People’s Committee, 3 teams gained the title of excellent labour team (Center of Informatics, Science and Technology Information, Agency of Standard- Measure- Quality and Center of Application), 7 individuals gained the title of emulation men of provincial level and 35 individuals were awarded the commendation certificates by the Provincial People’s Committee.

On the basis of the achievements, the Department of Science and Technology proposed directions, targets and plans to deploy ST missions in 2007 with the spirit of continuously promoting what was gained. The key task of the year is to develop ST in the way of practical application to rural areas, hastening the industrialization, agricultural and rural modernization; to make further research topics about all fields; to intensify programs of supporting enterprises to innovate technology and to apply new technology; to strengthen the construction of technical and material facilities for ST activities in the way of reinforcing investment on experimental equipment serving the inspection, evaluation of standards, measures and quality of products; to set up a project “Develop the quality of productivity” in order to create a movement of productivity and quality in every organization and industries; and simultaneously to focus on training human resources, cultivating talents in science and technology for the home province.

Attending and steering the Meeting, Mr. Dinh Quoc Thai, a member of the Standing Provincial Party Committee and Vice-President of the Provincial People’s Committee said that the role of ST in the socio-economic development mission of the province with the goal of becoming an industrialized and modern-oriented in 2010 was considered as the shortest way because ST influenced every aspect of economy and society. He also highly appreciated the achievements that the Department of Science and Technology had made during the past time and kindly requested that the leaders, cadres and officials of the Department continue to bring into play more and more, actively co-ordinating with other departments and branches, concentrating on the deployment of plans and duties entrusted by the province right from the beginning of the year.
