77th anniversary of the Vietnamese Communist Party

On 3rd February, at the Province’s Square, the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Committee and People’s Council, Vietnamese Father Front Committee formally held the 77th anniversary of the Vietnamese Communist Party and deployed the “Study and follow Uncle Ho’s ethical example” campaign. At the ceremony, there were the attendances of Mr. Tran Dinh Thanh- Member of the Central Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, President of the Provincial People’s Council; members of the eighth Standing Provincial Party Committee; heroic Vietnamese mothers; revolutionary veteran comrades and representative from all walks of life in the province.

Looking back on the Party’s glorious traditions, Mr. Tran Dinh Thanh stressed: For the past 20 years, with the effort and striving of the whole Party, people, army, our country’s innovation has made great, comprehensive and historical significant achievements. Our country has escaped the socio-economic crisis and strongly developed in every aspect. The economy grew quite fast; industrialization, modernization produced positive fruits; people’s lives improved obviously; political system and people united bloc was consolidated and strengthened; social politics stabilized; and national defense was held fast. Our position in the international arena was enhanced ceaselessly. In particular, 2006 is the year that marks quite a number of significant events of our country. Vietnam became an official member of the World Trade Organization (WTO), successfully organized the 14th APEC Conference and Asian countries unanimously recommended Vietnam be an impermanent member of the UN security council (the term of 2008-2009). Those successes assert the lucid leading role of the Vietnamese Communist Party. Every success of Vietnamese revolution is a hallmark of the Party’s maturity.

The speech of the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee specified outstanding achievements in Dongnai socio-economic development during the past year. Those are the economy has a high growth rate, economic structure moves in the right direction, internal and external capitals are mobilized to make investment develop strongly, many enterprises increases investment capital, agricultural production stabilizes, export turn-over highly increases and so on.

Entering 2007- the second year to implement the Resolution adopted by the Eighth Congress of the Provincial Party Committee and the Resolution adopted by the Tenth Congress of the Party, the first year to carry out commitments to the WTO, advantageous opportunities are plentiful but challenges are not few. Therefore, this year’s political duty is so great, requiring the whole Party Committee and people in the province to struggle more and more in order to gain the GDP of 15%.

At the ceremony, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Tran Dinh Thanh official launched among the whole Party Committee and people in the province the “Study and follow Uncle Ho’s ethical example” campaign. He requested that Party Committees and authorities of all levels, socio-political organizations take the steps of the campaign seriously, from study organization, thorough grasp of Uncle Ho’s ideology and ethics to the making of proper and practical action plans of each industry and each unit of provincial level to the grassroots level; that Party Committees and authorities of all levels, socio-political organizations register programs of ethical and lifestyle cultivation for each cadre, party member, and association member and at the same time manage and supervise the realization of ethics and lifestyle of cadres, party members and civil servants pursuant to the proposed programs.
