From 4 to 5 January, the 6th Meeting of Executive Board of Provincial Party Committee Term VIII was held

This meeting is held early in this new year with the purpose of reviewing and assessing the implementation of the Resolution No. 02-NQ/TU issued by the Provincial Party Committee in respect of objectives and missions that must be performed by the Party Committee in 2006 and this is also an opportunity to adopt the Resolution of the Executive Board of the Provincial Party Committee (Term VIII) on objectives and missions for  2007.

In his address to welcome delegates, Mr. Tran Dinh Thanh stated that 2006 was the first year to execute the Resolution approved in the 8^th Meeting of the Provincial Party Committee and the Resolution adopted in the 10^th Meeting of the Central Party. Despite facing many obstacles, unfavorable weather conditions, price fluctuation, cattle epidemic and poultry flu, which caused many adverse effects on production and people’s life, province’s socio-economic improvement has continued to occur owing to the appropriate guidelines from local authorities, as well as the inexhaustible efforts of local enterprises and human backgrounds. The most remarkable achievement in the previous year appears that the economy was grown at high rate (14.3%); the disproportion of economic structure has been adjusted in the right direction; the portion of industry, construction and service sectors has increased; the portion of agriculture, forestry and fishery sectors has lowered. The mobilization of domestic and overseas investment capital has been at the best; export turnover is lifted up; the development of transport, post and telecom services is fairly animated. Job training, employment settlement and care for policy beneficiaries have been improved; people’s living standard has been enhanced constantly. Governmental machinery at every level is gradually strengthened and consolidated with respect to organization and staffing arrangement. National security has been preserved. The public barnstorming of Party Committee levels, authorities, Fatherland Front and people’s organizations has improved significantly and concentrates on the improvement of physic and mental life of youth union members, associates and the masses. Party construction has been facilitated and has exceeded the criteria proposed by the resolution; party committees have guided and instructed the implementation overtaking political objectives and missions in each locality and unit.

In addition to many achievements, Dong Nai is still facing many challenges that require a lot of efforts from every level to surmount promptly at the beginning of 2007. The Provincial Party Committee Secretary suggested that the meeting should mainly focus on discussing and analyzing the outcomes and draw up any relevant approaches to the successful accomplishments of social and economic missions in 2007. During the morning, the meeting has listened to reports on the results of mission fulfillment in 2006, plans and development measures in 2007, presented by managers of some departments. Over two consecutive days of discussion, the meeting spends much time on evaluating the situation of carrying out the Resolution numbered 02-NQ/TU of the Provincial Party Committee.
