The National Assembly’s Committee of Social Issues visited deaf and dumb children at Dongnai Pedagogy College

In the afternoon of February 2, 2007, on occasion of a business trip in Dong Nai, Representative Delegation of the National Assembly’s Committee of Social Issues led by Mr. Luong Phan Cuong, the Vice –Leader came and visited the “High school and University Education for the Vietnamese deaf and dumb” project at Dongnai Pedagogy College. Accompanied with the Delegation was Mr. Le Hong Phuong- the Deputy Secretary of Dongnai Party Committee.

On behalf of the Delegation, Mr. Luong Phan Cuong gladly praised the achievements made by teachers and pupils during the past years. The project is funded by The Japanese Nippon Foundation. In Vietnam, there is only one project like this put at Dongnai Pedagogy College established since May 2000. Currently, the project attracts 48 deaf and dumb pupils all over the country who follow the courses of grade 6 to 12. Besides being trained academic programs just like normal pupils, they are trained to get certificates in sign language and sign language analysis. Most pupils gain the results of average and over; among them, 25% of the pupils achieve excellent kind. In particular, during the 3 successive years, 100% of the pupils pass in the graduation supplementary Secondary School examination.

On this occasion, the Delegation send New Year greetings to the teachers and pupils of the project, and at the same time offer a present of VND 2 million to the deaf and dumb pupils.
