Guarantee that all citizens of the appropriate age are vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine

Mr. Nguyen Huu Tai, Deputy Director of the Department of Health, recommended units and localities continue to fasten the vaccination progress, and ensure the safety for citizens. In addition, supervise every village, hamlet, and neighborhood group to find out if there are people who are eligible to take COVID-19 vaccine but have not yet been injected, leaving no one not being injected. Make sure every citizen aged 18 and above in the province gets at least 1 shot of Covid-19 vaccine (except for contraindications). After finishing the first phase, localities continue to plan for the vaccination of people aged 12-17. Each type of vaccine has a different usage, therefore, when carrying out injections, units and localities must notify injection teams to inject carefully with the right techniques and without making any mistakes.

The Department of Health has promulgated the 15th vaccination plan from October 15th to October 19th with 140,400 dozes of Pfizer Vaccine to be the first shot for people aged 65 and above, pregnant women for 13 weeks and above, people with chronic disease, people who have not been vaccinated with AstraZeneca due to ineligible status; continue injecting the second dose for 100% of those that have successfully injected the 1st shot of AstraZeneca in the 7th vaccination; 2nd dose for 10% of those vaccinated with Pfizer in the 8th vaccination, the time gap between the two doses will be chosen from longest to shortest, ensure sufficient time according to the guidance of the Ministry of Health.

Distribute 404,240 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine to the remaining 36% of those who injected the 1st dose in the 5th phase of vaccination; 100% of those that have injected in the 6th and 7th phase, 60% of those vaccinated in the 8th phase. The remaining 40% will get their 2nd shot in the coming time.

The Department of Health notes that people get the 2nd injection at the same vaccination facility. The interval between the 2 doses for AstraZeneca should be from 6 weeks to 12 weeks if the recipient agrees.
