Opening traffic connection

Long Thanh and Nhon Trach are two provinces located in the south of the province, and they are also located in the center of the Southern Key Economic Region. Therefore, these two districts have long become attractive destinations for investors. As proven for this, these two districts are in the top localities that have the high number of Industrial Zones in the province. In particular, although many Industrial Zones have been established and put into operation, the attractiveness of these two localities is still potential.

Along with the geographical advantage, the extremely high available land space serving for development needs is also a potential to add strength to these localities. Therefore, Long Thanh and Nhon Trach are identified as the new growth poles of Dong Nai. However, despite possessing a lot of potential, the development processes of these two poles have not met the expectation. In which, the biggest “knot” was indicated as the limitation of the connected transport infrastructure system.

The National Highway No. 51 has been concerned as the main connection axis in the external transportation system of both localities for a long time. However, with the rapid growth in the number of vehicles, this main road has exposed many limitations such as degraded road surface and the high frequency of traffic congestion.

As a result, the demand for investment in completing the infrastructure system to enhance connectivity is urgent for these two districts. In particular, route No. 319 plays a particularly important role in connecting traffic as well as sharing the traffic volume with National Highway No. 51

According to the plan, the investment of the Road No. 319 project – comes from the State budget, is divided into 4 segments, which includes 3 different segments: section through Nhon Trach 1 Industrial Zone; the 1.2km section from Ben Cam junction, Phuoc Thien commune to the intersection with the road connecting to Phuoc An port and the last part of the route down to Phuoc An port (Phuoc An port connecting route) have finished and put into operation before the year 2021.

The section of Road 319 extending from the Ben Cam junction connecting with the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Highway, invested and built in the form of BOT (Build - Operate - Transfer) has also opened for vehicles to go on by mid-October.

As said by the project investor, Mr. Tran Nhu Hoang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cuong Thuan IDICO Investment and Development Joint Stock Company: The extended of Road No. 319 project and the intersection with the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Highway was carried out in July 2017. This route plays an important role in reducing the traffic volume for the National Highway No. 51 intersection.

Mr. Cao Tien Dung- Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also assessed that the formed project will effectively promote the direct connection of the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway with route 319, shortening the journey from Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, and sharing the road for the overloaded National Highway 51.

The driving force of economic growth

In addition to the role of reducing the load for National Highway 51, Road 319 is also considered as a connecting traffic axis to facilitate the development of Industrial Zones in Nhon Trach and Long Thanh District.

Road 319 is the traffic axis running through the Industrial Zones of Nhon Trach District, so the operation of this road will shorten the travel time to Ho Chi Minh City. Because, vehicles can travel directly from Ho Chi Minh City to Nhon Trach District and vice versa along road 319 without having to move to National Highway 51.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Thanh- Vice Chairman of People's Committee of Nhon Trach District of Ho Chi Minh City- said that for Nhon Trach District, the completion and operation of the entire route 319 is a very important premise for the local development in the future. Because, with this route, the transportation of goods of all Industrial Zones in the area as well as the travel of people to Ho Chi Minh City is shortened in time. For that reason, it helps to reduce costs and creates favorable conditions for socio-economic development.

According to Mr. Cao Tien Dung- Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the extended route 319 and the intersection with the Ho Chi Minh City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway was formed to complete the entire route 319, creating an important premise for promoting economic and social development for Nhon Trach new urban area in particular and Dong Nai province in general.

Specifically, by running through Industrial Zones in Nhon Trach District, connecting 2 highways which are Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay and Ben Luc - Long Thanh as well as connecting Phuoc An port, this route also has great significance for the logistics development of Dong Nai province. “The route will create an opportunity to reduce freight costs, shorten the circulation time, and make it easier for businesses to develop. This route creates a great position and force for Long Thanh and Nhon Trach areas," emphasized Mr. Cao Tien Dung- Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
