State President attended beginning ceremony at Vietnam Academy of Defense.

At the beginning ceremony, Lieutenant General Mr. Vo Tien Trung, the principal of Vietnam Academy of Defense, said that the Academy unceasingly attempted to innovate and improve the quality of education and training, enhancing science research; focusing on building up a highly qualified workforce. The Academy has applied the positive teaching and learning method oriented towards training students’ thinking capacity; spending time on self-study activities, discussions and practical studies.

As well as the training mission, the Academy has been active in science researches; finishing many topics at levels of State, Ministry and Sector to serve directly teaching work at the Academy, which is the scientific basis for proposing the methods of planning problems about national defense strategy, politics and National defense in the new context to the Party, State and Ministry of National Defense.  The Academy has also successfully completed international cooperation in training, contributing to excellent implementation of Party and government’s diplomatic policy.

Congratulating officials, lectures, students, workers, and soldiers of Vietnam Academy of Defense on this occasion, State President Mr. Truong Tan Sang stated that the Academy has thoroughly grasped and strictly carried out the policy, viewpoint, resolution and directive of Party and Government; successfully implementing the direction of Government and Ministry of National defense; closely coordinating with Ministries, Departments and sectors at the Central level, organizations, units and localities nationwide, as well as trying to build the Institute to keep pace with its mission.

The President recommended that Vietnam Academy of Defense should study the tradition of military of our ancestors through more than a  thousand of years building and defending the country; studying the policy and strategy of war direction of the Party and Government; the abundant and creative experiences of Vietnam Military; studying military science of other countries in the world, especially the problems of modern war and high-technology war, not only to act as a counselor for The Party, Government, and military but also to serve its the training mission.
