The report by the leadership of Dong Nai Department of Health says that 3,660 cases of hand-foot-mouth disease have been found out in Dong Nai. Up to now there have been 16 deaths.
The
province has made efforts to combat the epidemic, but it keeps spreading in a
complex way.
From June to now, there have been 250 cases of hand-foot-mouth disease.
Hand-foot-mouth disease cases see a ten-fold rise during this period.
Highly appreciating Dong Nai’s efforts to combat the epidemic, Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien said that Dong Nai is required to further promote the propaganda programs of hand-foot-mouth disease.
Propaganda must go ahead of other things to prevent the occurrence of the disease, Tien stressed.
In addition, it is required to promptly strengthen disease control, and to map hot spots where deaths are reported to kill the disease in a timely manner, Tien added.
On this occasion, Minister paid an inspection visit to An Binh ward and checked the epidemic combat in An Binh ward, in An Binh Kindergarten, in Dong Nai Children Hospital, and in several households with their children who are suffering from hand-foot-mouth disease.
