Tan Hiep ward voters are casting their votes

At 6:00 AM, many a voter was present to get information and to take into consideration the list of candidates so that they could choose the right ones into the National Assembly and levels of People’s Council.

A lion dance team celebrated the election with drum beats and dances and welcomed all voters, which made a more exciting and joyful election atmosphere.

In addition to banners, colorful flags and flowers, propaganda loudspeakers to call people to go to polls echoed, which created a more bustling atmosphere.

Mr. Dinh Xuan Ngap, a retired officer in Tan Hiep ward, with ballots in his hand excitedly said: “This is a historic election because it is conducted at four levels. I am excited and eager to wait until today to hold these ballots in my hands”.

He continued: “I will choose moral, talented, professional and responsible candidates and hope that elected candidates will fulfill their roles and responsibilities to build a socialist country with rich people, and fair, democratic, and civilized society.

Voter Bui Thi Le was eager to say: “I really feel the atmosphere of a big festival. We voters are excited to wait until the start of election to fulfill our rights and responsibilities. With the ballots in hands, I will be wise enough to select the most elite candidates to contribute to national leadership and development”.

Also, Le sent her message to elected candidates that she hoped that they would take more interest in women and children, and in women’s equality.

After a solemn flag-raising ceremony, 3,315 voters from young to old took turns doing their holy rights.

In early morning, Member of the Central Party and Secretary of Dong Nai Party Committee Tran Dinh Thanh was present at the polling location, casting his votes as the first voter.

After finishing casting her votes, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Ngoc aged 22, a student from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education said: “It is the first time I have gone to polls. I feel both excited and nervous. I hope that my representative candidates will develop their talents and enhance their determination to the fullest for the country and take better care of us - the youth. For example, create more playgrounds, organize more practical activities, improve educational environment and provide employment for young people”.

In the hot sun of summer, a huge number of voters gathered at polling locations, waiting to vote. Voters with beads of sweat on their face smiled bright and hopeful smiles and showed their trust in the representative candidates they voted for.
