The session is aimed at the implementation of Plan no.97 and Directive no.03 concerning agriculture, farmers, rural areas, and vocational training courses for rural laborers.
Secretary of Dong Nai Party Committee Tran Dinh Thanh is delivering a speech on the implementation of Plan no.97 and Directive no.03 in Cam My
Cam My’s report shows that over two years of implementation of Plan no.97 and Directive no.03, it has invested nearly VND2.600 trillion in agricultural production, accounting for 71.93 percent compared with total direct investment capital.
Cam My’s agricultural production in 2010 hits VND47.57 million per hectare, up over 14 million per hectare compared with that in 2008.
Cam My has finished comprehensive planning for its socio-economy, and assisted farmers in gaining access to and in applying science and technology to production, and building up advanced production models...
However, Cam My has not been able to reach several targets as required: income per capita only hits VND12 million per capita; planning for intensive farming areas and main crops is not concrete enough; the rate of standard-meeting officers and civil servants is still low, accounting for 37.5 percent; a small and fragmented breeding industry results in low income; the construction progress of new rural areas in pilot communes is still slow.
At the working session, Secretary of Dong Nai Party Committee Tran Dinh Thanh said that Cam My ought to apply science and technology to production, review farming processes, enhance mechanization at all stages of production, rapidly expand clean and safe agricultural models, and establish brands for some of its agricultural produces.
