Australian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh city had a working visit in Dong Nai province

On March 1st, Mr. Dinh Quoc Thai – Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee welcome Ms. Karen Lanyon – Australian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh city to Dong Nai province on her working visit.
At the reception, Mr. Dinh Quoc Tuan gave an overview introduction about the provincial socioeconomic status, in which, he highlighted that Dong Nai was one of the leading provinces in Vietnam in Industrial development and FDI attraction with over 1000 projects and the total investment capital of 24 billion USD.


Mr Chairman confirmed about the long lasting relationship in traditional cooperation between Vietnam and Australia and it is growing better and better. Dong Nai province is having 11 Australian invested businesses with the total capital of 64 million USD. Vietnam and Australia are also in good cooperation in cultural and other fields.Mr Chairman trusted that as a new Council General, Ms. Karen Lanyon would strengthen the cooperation and relationship between Australia and Vietnam in general and between Australia and Dong Nai province in particular.bai7_020316_1.jpg

Ms. Karen Lanyon confirmed that she always wanted to strengthen the cooperation in economic and trade between Australia and the provinces in the southern of Vietnam. She hoped that there would be more and more Australian businesses to invest in Dong Nai in the near future. Ms Karen Lanyon also wanted to strengthen the cooperation and support Dong Nai province in education sector which is Australia’s strength.
Mr. Dinh Quoc Thai highly appreciated that Ms. Karen Lanyon suggested strengthening the cooperation between Australia and Dong Nai province, especially in education sector. And Mr. Dinh Quoc Tuan, at the same time, confirmed that with 800,000 labors in Dong Nai province and up to 90,000 people who demand vocational training each year, vocational training is actually the key factor to the provincial development, especially in hi-tech and environmentally friendly industries.
