The scientists are having a discussion at the forum.

The forum was attended by 428 delegates who were representatives of Ministry of  ARD, Department of Animal Health, Breeding Department, Centre of Agriculture Encouragement and Local Centre of Animal Health, managers, enterprises, the media, scientists along with a large number of pigs- raising farmers of more than 20 provinces in the South. At the forum, nearly 40 questions were raised, focusing on discovery of epidemic diseases, efficiency in disease prevention, specific remedy for PRRS (Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome) and the reason why the efficiency with which vaccines can protect animal only reaches less than 30 percent etc. According to the scientists, there has not been a specific for the PRRS and it is difficult to treat the disease. This type of virus in pigs cannot be eliminated by vaccine or antibiotic. The effective protection that vaccine provides is not high because results of virus tests have not revealed whether the virus belongs to the European type or North American type. The PRRS is not be transmitted through human and other animals and poultry. The scientists also warned that bathing pigs should be greatly limited because too much bathing can lead to high humidity and in turn result in germs. The piglets’ teeth should not be cut early because they will not be able to suck their mothers’ breasts, which causing the resistance to be gradually decreased.
