Provincial Farmer Association sums up its operation in the first half of 2006.

According to report made by the provincial Farmer Association, in the first six months of this year the agricultural production is generally good. Despite the direct effect of bird flu and foot and mouse disease, the total production value of agriculture, forestry, fishery is estimated to reach the total amount of 2,015.364 million VND, fulfilling 31.89% of the year target; The production value of agriculture alone is estimated to reach 1,760.037 million VND, fulfilling 30.19% of the year target. The farmer association at various levels has opened 7 training courses for 791 key staffs and 12 vocational education courses on industrial clothing, veterinary and electronic for 751 members. It had coordinated with agriculture promotion centers and enterprises to held 490 training courses and 185 conferences on agriculture promotion and transferring scientific technologies for over 33,094 members. In addition, its branches had taken farmers to visit the pilot centers on raising fogs, eals and clean vegetable as to study and exchange experience on these fields.

It also focuses on restructuring and developing its organization. Presently, it has 1,118 branches and 5,234 groups in the provinces. 354 of which is organized based on their occupations such as group specializing in cotton, high productivity club…Its good operation has created advantage conditions for its members

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Le Hong Phuong, Deputy Secretary of provincial Party Committee, suggested that in the coming time the association should organize a conference to evaluate the roll and responsibility of the government, farmer, scientist and manufacturers in enhance agriculture production and to urge relevant agencies to point out plans and solutions to provincial agriculture. He also urged the association to widely propagandize the Resolution of the 8the Party Congress of the province.  

Its tasks and targets in the second of half of this year are to overcome difficulties in developing the fund to support farmer in enhancing their business; to strengthen the management ability of standing committee of the association at district level; to launch more and more emulation movements on helping each other to overcome poverty and to do business; and to build up the sustainable development model.
