In Bien Hoa city, voters in Tan Hoa, Tan Bien and Ho Nai ward are greatly concerned about the policy on site clearance and compensation of some construction projects that are being carried out in Bien Hoa City. At the meeting, they all assert that the process of site clearance and house remove conducted by Compensation Council is not reasonable because they do not know how the new resettlement areas will be allocated. Therefore, many people living in construction sites have not received the compensation money. In addition, many voters also complain about the compensation price. They claim that the current price is low and the compensation money is not enough for them to construct a new house which is higher than or the same as the older one. At the meeting with voters in communes of Ma Da, Hieu Liem, Vinh Tan and Thi Tran town in Vinh Cuu district, voters are worried about the nomination and dismissal of some senior officials in recent congress of National Assembly, the case in point is Mr. Dao Dinh Binh, former minister of transportation. Voters in newly-founded communes of Hieu Liem and Ma Da suggested that the authorities should have more priority policies for local inhabitants, especially policies on building infrastructures and public transportation. Anti-corruption is also getting much voters’ concerns and many solutions to this issue are also sent to National Assembly delegates.
On the same day, Mr. Le Hong Phuong, Deputy Secretary and vice head of provincial delegation of National Assembly delegates, had a meeting with voters in 6 riverside communes of Phu Huu, Phu Dong, Dai Phuoc, Vinh Thanh, Phuoc Khanh va Phu Thanh at the office building of Nhon Trach district.
After hearing Mr. Le Hong Phuong report on the summary of the agenda of the 9th session of 11th National Assembly, voters had pointed out many issues related to lives of local inhabitants. The hot issue is the site clearance, compensation and resettlement for those households involved the construction projects of the district. About this issue, many voters asserted that the compensation price is lower than the value of their real estates. They complained that their lands were transferred to non-state owned enterprises and were not used for building public facilities, the compensation for fruit-trees growing in their lands was not clear and transparent and the assessment for compensation was unreasonable. Therefore, they hoped that relevant agencies would quickly solve these problems. In addition, voters were worried about the resettlement programs, solutions to unemployment, the construction of school, healthcare centre…etc. Mr. Le Hong Phuong had acknowledged these complain.
On the same day, at 2 communes of Nui Tuong and Nam Cat Tien in Tan Phu district, Mr. Duong Trung Quoc, National Assembly delegate, also had a meeting with voters in these two communes.
On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Duong Trung Quoc reported on the achievement on socioeconomic developments. He also admitted the weaknesses in flood and disaster prevention and fighting, wastefulness and corruption.
At the meeting, voters questioned about the project to move people living in the flood area to the resettlement area, policies for minor ethnic, and the postponement in carrying out projects on transportation system in rural area.
