The eighth meeting of the seventh provincial People’s Council opened.

 The meeting has the participation of Mr. Tran Dinh Thanh, member of Central Party Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee and Chairman of provincial People’s Council; Mr. Le Hong Phuong, Deputy Secretary of provincial Party Committee; Mr. Vo Van Mot, Deputy Secretary of provincial Party Committee and Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; National Assembly delegates of Dongnai province; leaders of department, functional agencies, sectors in the province; members of provincial People’s Council and 22 voters who represent for all people in the province.

In his opening speech, Secretary of provincial Party Committee and Chairman of provincial People’s Council Tran Dinh Thanh said that in the first half of this year despite some difficulties the socioeconomic situation of Dongnai province keeps on developing well thanks to the great efforts of provincial Party Committee and people in the province. The GDP is estimated to reach 13.8% and the industry and construction sector increase 15.3% and service increases 13.5%. However, there remain some adversities. Foreign investment into the province is showing some signs of reduction. Environment pollution is not radically improved. Violation in land management and using still exits. The issuance of land-use-right certificates is slow. The construction of basic facilities year in the province is slow. Mr. Tran Dinh Thanh asks delegates to focus on analyzing and evaluating and pointing out causes for these shortcomings and then proposing solutions to speed up the rate of socioeconomic development in the second half of this year.

At the meeting, members of provincial People’s Council also hear Chairman of provincial People’s CommitteeMr. Vo Van Mot report on the implementation of target and mission on economy, society and national defense of the province in the first half of this year and the target and mission of the second half of 2006. They also hear report of commissions of provincial People’s Council on the implementation of economic, social and cultural mission and law observation in the province; report on the collection and allocation of state budget and solutions to collect and allocate budget in the second half of this year; report on the carrying out of investment plan and construction projects in the first half of this year and the adjustment of investment plan and construction projects in 2006.

In the evening, the meeting discusses in detail all these above-mentioned issues.
