Preliminarily reviewing the compliance with Resolution 09 issued by Ministry of Politics in regard of enhancing Party’s leadership in the veteran matter after it has been brought into effect for 5 years.

On the morning of 22 June 2007, Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee organized a meeting to have a preliminary review on the compliance with Resolution 09 of Ministry of Politics involving “Strengthening Party’s leadership in the matter of Vietnamese veteran during this stage of new revolution”. The meeting has been attended by Mr. Tran Dinh Thanh – Secretary of Provincial Party Committee; Vo Van Mot – Provincial People’s Committee’s Chairman; Bui Ngoc Thanh – Head of Public Relations Board of Provincial Party Committee.

For 5 years of carrying Resolution 09 into force, all levels of Party’s Executive Committee have frequently directed and communicated new State and Party’s guidelines and policies to War Veteran Association, organized and orientated all Association’s activities, facilitated the Association’s opinion contribution to building policies and legislations of the Party and Government so as to effectively practice all provincial socio-economic objectives. At the time of Ministry of Politics’ issuing Resolution 09 dated 8 Jan. 2002, there existed 13 upper-grassroots units, 295 grassroots units with more than 19.000 members. War Veteran Association has been more and more consolidated and enhanced. There are now 14 district-level units and 317 grassroots units joined by nearly 22.500 members. Since its establishment, War Veteran Association of all levels has made many efforts, overcome many difficulties and been active to participate in revolutionary movements at locality, state departments and units, and been recognized as a leader in constructing Party and State, and fighting against corruption and misappropriate acts, always heightened and upheld traditional code as a “Ho’s soldier”.

On this occasion, 3 societies honorably received flags for excellent performance in public emulation; 31 societies and 17 individuals won merit certificates granted by Standing Provincial Party Committee.

Giving a speech at the conference, Provincial Party Secretary Tran Dinh Thanh has expressed his compliment on those achievements that have been gained after 5 years of following Resolution 09 in respect of reinforcing Party’s leadership toward War Veteran matters in the province, and he has also pointed out some restrictions that needs to be dealt with in the next time. He stated that all ongoing policies and tasks to be fulfilled in compliance with Resolution 09 will be the focus on strengthening and upholding the role of War Veteran Association in industrialization and modernization times as set forth in Resolution of Party Congress X and will strive to purify and consolidate all of the association’s subsidiaries.
