High school and continuation high school graduation exams in 2007: seriously organized

The high school graduation exam of the 2006-2007 school year is expected to take place nationwide on May 30, May 31 and June 1 2007. This year, Dong Nai is expected to have 23,870 students taking high school graduation exams and 4,634 students taking continuation high school exams. Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training (DET) will organize 49 examination boards for the high schools and 8 ones for the continuation high schools. As for the invigilation, DET is going to coordinate related departments to prepare for the security in printing, copying and transporting exam questions, protecting for the examination boards and marking exam papers. Presently, DET bought a marking software in accordance with regulations of General Department for Testing and Education Quality Accreditation and equipped two boards of examiners with three scanners.

As for the 10th form entrance exam in the 2007-2008 school year, one out of two methods will be applied: selection or competitive examination, which follows three-staged process. The first stage is for competitive examination to Luong The Vinh Professional High School according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) (on 14 and 15 of June 2007). The second stage is for competitive examination to public high schools namely Ngo Quyen, Nguyen Trai, Tran Bien, Thong Nhat A, Long Khanh, Tan Phu and Long Thanh high schools according to regulations of MoET (on 28 and 29 of June 2007). The third stage is for selection for the remaining high schools. (Application files will be sold from June 30 2007 and receipt of application files will start on July 12 and finish on July 20.)

At the meeting, the Socio-Cultural Board suggested that on the remaining days, DET should continue checking the preparation for the exams, intensify the popularization among teachers, students and students’ families through mass media in order to organize the exams seriously as directed by the Moet.
