After two years of deploying and thoroughly grasping Notice No. 162 – TB/Central of Ministry of Politics and Circular No. 45-TT/TU of Provincial Standing Party Committee with reference to “several measures that should be taken to reinforce the press management in the current situation”, the consciousness of committees, authorities, leaders and managers of press offices, as well as provincial editors and correspondences has been improved. As a result, they have got the better understanding of thought and cultural functions, political and thought tasks of revolutionary press, and strictly abide by Party’s guidelines over press matter. As for directing and managing duties, Civil Affairs Party Committee of Provincial People’s Committee and Provincial Party Committee’s Propaganda and Training Commission have already finished building the statute of management and guiding on culture, art and press. The statute has clearly regulated the monitoring content and approach to make coordination in supervising, guiding and managing press, publication and culture and art more seriously and efficiently. All mass media in province have improved their thought and political content, and continuously renewed content and design, and reinforced Party and State construction inside these bodies.
Mr. Nguyen Van Long – Provincial Party Commissioner, Vice Head of Provincial Party Committee’s Propaganda and Training Commission assumed that, in addition to what has been gained up to now, Dong Nai’s press has still consisted of many constraints and weak points, namely loose cooperation in guiding and managing press, infrequent information exchange, and ignorantly and inattentively fulfilling their responsibility; misappropriate recruitment, disqualified staff and late remedy; undetermined and incomplete consolidation and strengthening in press organizational frameworks; governing body’s lack of supervising and supporting its subsidiaries in their difficulty overcoming; low-quality journalists; low political, cultural and scientific quality presented in some pages, publications and broadcasting programs; lack of concentration on personnel utilization, professional training and equipment investment, which results in many challenges facing journalists,...

Giving directing statement at the meeting, Mr. Bui Ngoc Thanh – Standing Provincial Party Committee Officer and Head of Public Relations Committee, said that, in addition to some recent achievements, we should be fully aware of some obstacles challenging Dong Nais press. In fact, although the size of Dong Nai’s press has risen, the demands for diversifying information ranges on printing, radio and television broadcasting press has not been sufficiently met to serve readers, viewers and audience with adequate information. Furthermore, Dong Nai’s press only focuses on the width but be limited to the depth, particularly lacks those works that have positive impact and appears notable in press sector and human life. Specifically, there is lack of investigative reportages related to considerable problems and also elaborate political commentaries towards practical issues arising in daily life. Mr. Bui Ngoc Thanh prompted press bodies in Dong Nai to set up plans to fulfill all tasks posed by Ministry of Politics in Conclusion Notice No. 68-TB/TW, to continue to accomplish Conclusion Notice No. 41. Provincial Journalist Association , governing bodies and press subsidiaries must be honest to figure out current actual status of press in province to uphold previous achievements, surmount weaknesses and simultaneously propose innovative resolutions to more improve press operations in the future…
At the meeting, Standing Committee of Dong Nai’s Journalists Association has also awarded the prize of gold pen for 15 deserving works.
