Tree-planting Festival named “Forever be grateful to Uncle Ho” at Xuan Loc District launched

In the morning of May 25, at Xuan Tho Commune, Xuan Loc District took place a ceremony to launch a tree-planting Festival named “Forever be grateful to Uncle Ho” on the anniversary of Ho Chi Minh President’s 117th birthday. At the ceremony, there were the attendances of Mr. Ao Van Thinh - Vice-President of the Provincial People’s Committee, leaders of Departments, and Branches, district leaders together with a great number of cadres, students and district’s people.

The ceremony to mobilize the Tree-planting Festival is held yearly on the occasion of Uncle Ho’s birthday. Over the 47 past years, millions of hectares of forests have been grown all over the country of which Dongnai has occupied 46,399 hectares of focused forests and 19 million cultivated trees. Mobilizing at the ceremony of 2007 Tree-planting Festival named “Forever be grateful to Uncle Ho”, Mr. Ao Van Thinh emphasized that Dongnai was an industrial province and therefore, planting trees was so meaningful, showing good cultural traditions and specially beginning the movement of forestation among the whole population in the whole

province. Therefore, in 2007 and in the following years, the whole province needed to strengthen forestation. In order to do that, the branches of all levels had to focus on planting trees as planned, ensure the quality and quantity of the forestation movement of the whole province. Besides, tree-planting had to be given care, protection with prevention on forest fire, restriction on exploitation, promotion of agricultural expansion encouragement and so forth.

It is known that in 2006 the whole province planted 743 hectares forest of which Xuan Loc made up 120 hectares. This year, Xuan Loc District will plant 416 hectares and 114,000 dispersed trees.
