Over 5,000 Youth Union members participated in summer volunteer program 2008

This year’s campaign will focus on 5 main contents: the campaign titled “protecting the native river” to raise awareness about preserving the Dong Nai river, encouraging students to stay in school, exam-support program, traffic safety education and the program called “Joyful Summer for Children”. The kick-off ceremony attracted the participation of more than 5,000 youth union members.

The youth campaign over the past years has appealed to a large number of youth union member and students who volunteer to participate in socio-economic activities to solve difficulties in the community. At the same time, it’s also an opportunity for them to grow up and promote their creativeness; making a contribution to enhancing the operation quality of the Communist Youth Union.

After the kick-off ceremony, Politburo member Truong Tan Sang, first secretary of the Central Communist Youth Union Vo Van Thuong and leaders of provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, and People’s Committee and the young people came to Tran Bien Temple of Literature to burn incenses and plant commemorative trees.
