5th Professional Skill Contest in Dong Nai: 120 contestants won high prizes

144 contestants who are representatives of 21 schools, centers, and enterprises participated in the 5th Professional Skill Contest for young workers in Dong Nai held by Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs in collaboration with the vocational training units and enterprises from April 26 to May 6, 2008.

        The participants competed in mechatronics, auto tech, informatics, restaurant service, civil electricity, refrigerator electrical engineering, industrial electronics, welding, water pipeline installation, graphic design and web design, sewing clothes for women, fine arts-carpentry, cooking, and drawing and designing on computer. At the end of this contest, 120 contestants won recognition for their good achievements including 17 ones with the first prizes, 11 ones with the second prizes, 17 ones with the third prizes, 55 ones with consolation prizes and 20 ones with excellent performances.

        The contest is not only a traditional competition to encourage creativeness and awareness of respecting professional skills among young

 workers but also an opportunity to assess the effectiveness of vocational training work in the current situation. Best contestants of this contest will be sorted out and trained in order to join in the national skill contest as well as 2008 ASEAN skill contest.
