Dong Nai Culture, Sports and Tourism sector to perform 12 key tasks in 2008

On the morning of May 9, Dong Nai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DCST) held a conference to deploy tasks of the cultural, sports and tourism sector in 2008 at the green club of Vuon Xoai farm. Participants in the conference were Vo Thanh Tung – Deputy Director General of Ho Chi Minh City Representative Office of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Huynh Thi Nga – Vice-chairperson of Dong Nai People's Committee, leaders of agencies and sectors, and People’s Committee of districts and Bien Hoa City.

Director Board of DCST is inaugurated at the conference

        Pursuant to Decision No. 986/QĐ.UBND in March 28, 2008, the Department of Culture and Information, the Department of Sports and Physical Training, the body in charge of tourism in the Department of Commerce and Tourism, and the bodies in charge of cultural issues in the Committee of Population, Family and Children have all merged to become the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DCST). This conference aimed to deploy such new tasks of DCST in 2008 as stabilizing organization; enhancing the state management effectiveness through administrative reform system; strengthening the quality of movement “The whole community unites to build cultural life”; raising the quality of training and fostering human resources; preserving and developing cultural heritages; improving the popularization activities; stepping up the socialization in the fields of cultural and sports; and preparing for 310-year Bien Hoa – Dong Nai anniversary, etc.

 

        Addressing at the conference, Vice-Chairperson Huynh Thi Nga completely agreed with the new tasks set by DCST. She said

 that it would be very difficult for a new department to perform these tasks with a very short deadline. She therefore emphasized that the department should pay attention to carrying out these tasks timely and properly, and to closely collaborate with related sectors, especially developing the province’s tourism. She believed that the cooperation among many departments together with new director board would fulfill abovementioned duties.

        On this occasion, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism inaugurated the Director Board ( including Director Nguyen Thanh Tri and two Deputy Directors of Nguyen Xuan Thao and Hoang Ngoc Khoi), mobilizing patriotic emulation movements of the culture, sports and tourism sector in 2008 and signing a mutual agreement to emulate with other departments.
