Conference on the application of ISO standards into public administration reform

 Participating at the conference were representatives of functional agencies, departments and enterprises in the province.

ISO 9001:2000 is a latest international standard on quality control system. This standard has been applied by over 700,000 organizations in 150 countries. This standard stipulates the minimum requirements of the quality control system of an organization.

With the trend to integrate with the region and the world, public administration reform is one of important and urgent tasks of our country aiming to enhance the transparency of public administration system nationwide. To fulfill this task, since 2001, the provincial People’s Committee has carried out many projects to support public administration agencies to apply ISO 9000 standard. Up to now, 7 government agencies in the province has successfully constructed and applied public administration system basing on ISO 9000, namely the office of provincial People’s Committee, Department of Industry, Department of Department of Science and Technology, Dong Nai Industrial Zone Authorities, Department of Trade and Tourism, Department of Planning and Investment, Custom Office.

At the conference, agencies applying this standard reported that with the application of this standard their public administration systems are effectively managed.
