The food industry has a good season at the end of year

​From September 2022, many sectors faced difficulties as orders fell 20-50% compared to the beginning of the year. However, the food industry had a good season when orders increased compared to the beginning of the year and many enterprises expanded production and export.

In 2022, the food processing industry in the province has high growth. Domestic and foreign invested enterprises have invested hundreds of millions of dollars to build factories, increase factory capacity to meet orders in domestic and foreign markets.

 *Many orders at the end of year

 Epidemic, economic decline, so consumers in the world give top priority to food items. Therefore, enterprises in the field of processing agricultural products and food receive a lot of orders from the domestic market and export. In particular, since the outbreak of the disease, health support products are often very expensive. By consumers around the world the top priority in shopping is clean food, good for health.

Mr. Tran Khanh Huy, Head of Business Department of Koyu & Unitek Co., Ltd in Loteco Industrial Park (Bien Hoa City) said: “In the first three quarters of 2022, an average of 250 tons of processed chicken is exported to Japan per month. Since the fourth quarter, orders increased by about 40% so the company increased its capacity to 350 tons/month to meet customers' demand. In addition to the Japanese market, the company has more orders from HongKong". According to Mr. Huy, the domestic market demand for food in the last months of the year also increased so the output for the company's products is very favorable. The company continues to find more partners to open new line houses.


Some domestic and foreign enterprises and corporations invested in agricultural and food processing industry in Dong Nai after several successful years have built more factories in and outside the province such as: CP, Nestlé, Ajinomoto, Vedan, GC,...

Mr. Montri Suwanposri, General Director of Vietnam C.P. Livestock Joint Stock Company of Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park  (Bien Hoa city) said: “Recently, the company exported the first batch of processed chicken to Japan marking the success of C.P. Feed - Farm - Food value chain. Start the journey to bring Vietnamese processed chicken products to Japan market and continue to export to other countries. Phase 1 C.P will produce more than 1.6 thousand tons/month, equivalent to more than 4 million chickens per month. In 2025, more new markets will be opened and twice as much capacity as they are today," he said. Export processed chicken in large quantities will open up opportunities for Dong Nai livestock industry as well as other provinces and cities across the country.

*Opportunity to expand production

 Food processing enterprises in Dong Nai seize the opportunity quite quickly to restore business and expand production to meet orders.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam, Sales Director of GC Food Joint Stock Company in Ho Nai Industrial Park (Trang Bom district) shared: “Due to the Covid-19 epidemic, foreign consumers use more health supplements, so products made from aloe vera, coconut jelly, and other fruits of GC are exported quite well. This year, the company received overseas orders up more than 20 percent from the previous year. Currently, GC products have been exported to dozens of countries, territories. The company is still focusing on manufacturing and researching new products that are good for health to increase exports."

 In the domestic market, the line of products that support health is also well received by the people and spend money to buy more. Therefore, products with clear origin, clean production, good for health, convenience is easy to find a foothold in the market.

 Mr. Khuat Quang Hung, Head of External Communications of Nestlé Vietnam Co., Ltd., said: “Since the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic, the product lines supporting health have been chosen by domestic and foreign consumers to buy more. Therefore, the products in this field of the company increased capacity by 20-30% to meet the needs of domestic and export markets. Nestlé has a wide range of products for each age so consumers can easily choose the right products." Currently, Nestlé Vietnam Co., Ltd is urgently completing a new factory in Dong Nai to increase export output.

 Vietnam has signed 15 free trade agreements and have come into force, tariff lines have been declining to 0%. This is an opportunity for food enterprises to increase exports to the above markets to enjoy tax incentives, increase competitiveness. At the same time, it helps the domestic agricultural industry to develop.
