​On December 25, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) organized a national online conference to implement the tasks of labor, people with meritorious services and society in 2020.

As a result, in 2019, the LOLISA sector has created jobs for more than 1.6 million workers, reaching 103.2% of the plan, sending 148,000 Vietnamese to work in foreign countries, exceeding the five-year plan 2016-2021. ; the enrollment of vocational training reached 2.33 million people, the second consecutive year of achieving the enrollment plan; The average poverty rate of the whole country is below 4%, decreased 1.3% compared to 2018; Regarding the field of people with meritorious efforts to basically settle the outstanding documents, up to now, there have been 14 provinces having no records of people with outstanding achievements, recognized over 800 cases of martyrs from the unsolved documents.
In addition to the achieved results, there are still some remained difficulties and challenges such as: The management of laborers working abroad, the quality of vocational education is limited; the situation of debt of social insurance and health insurance payment is slowly overcome, the life of ethnic minorities in remote areas, natural calamities is still difficult, etc.
In 2020, the LOLISA sector continues to improve, synchronously with developing the labor market, renovating and improving the quality of vocational education, attach importance to training high quality human resources; implement synchronously and effectively social security policies and social welfare; step by step improve and raise the living standards of people with meritorious services, the poor and disadvantaged people in the society.
Speaking at the Conference, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan acknowledged and praised the positive results achieved by the Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Department in 2019, especially the whole industry has achieved breakthrough goals in institutional building work, raising the quality of vocational education, developing the labor market and resolving outstanding issues in certifying people with meritorious services to the revolution. At the same time, in 2020, it is required that the LOLISA continue to improve the institution; promote development of training and retraining of high quality human resources associated with the development of science and technology, innovation, sustainable development with cultural and social development, environmental protection, solid consolidation, defence security; improve the quality of life and spirit for the people; ensure social security goals; strengthening child protection solutions, etc.
