(CTT-Dong Nai) – In respect of renewable energy, Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Hoang of the Provincial People's Committee talked about the advantages, orientations, and Dong Nai's recommendations on developing this source of energy.
Setting up renewable energy infrastructure on a factory's rooftop
Data from https://globalsolaratlas.info (a reputable site for solar radiation data), the total horizontal radiation of Dong Nai province is in the range of 1.7 to 1.9 thousand kWh/m2/ year. The average number of sunshine hours is 2.4 thousand hours/year. These indicators are higher than the average in the Southern region and are a good advantage to develop solar power (SP).
Regarding solar power, Tri An lake, with an area of more than 32,000 hectares, possesses a great potential for the development of solar projects. According to calculations, the installation area of solar panels on the lake is about 10.5 thousand hectares (accounting for about 32% of the total area), equivalent to the total expected power generation capacity of about 8.9 thousand MWp. Based on the energy demand and power grid across the province, the province is planning to develop suitable renewable energy projects.
About the rooftop solar installations, the province has nearly 7,000 hectares of factory land in 32 industrial parks and more than 940 hectares of factory land in 27 industrial clusters that have been and are about to be put into use. With these lands area, the potential for the generation of solar power on rooftop of factories is about 3.5 thousand MWp. Currently, there are nearly 6,000 solar projects connected to the national power system with a total installed capacity of nearly 690MWp and a total power output of 765 million kWh in 2022, accounting for 5% of the province's commercial electricity output.
The development of the rooftop solar system previously has contributed to the increase of local power sources, increasing the percentage of renewable energy, and reducing the load on the national grid and transmission system. Currently, the province encourages the development of renewable energy sources to maximize the replacement of fossil energy; and Dong Nai is investing in building power plants using waste and biomass in conjunction with environmental protection.
In order for the investment and construction of renewable energy projects to be convenient and quick, the province proposed the Government to promptly issue the implementation plan of the Electricity Master Plan VIII as a legal basis for implementing the projects. Early promulgate the investment policy of solar power projects and the rooftop solar system to replace the expired policy. At the same time, promulgating standards for connection of rooftop solar powered energy...
