(CTT-Dong Nai) - In the first half of 2023, import and export enterprises continued to suffer many impacts from the general global economic situation. As the import-export market shrank, the ability to recover business and production of enterprises is still in hot water.
Business at an import – export enterprise
The difficulties of enterprises have directly affected the state budget
revenue in the province. In order to fulfill the target, the Dong Nai Department
of Customs has increased communication channels with enterprises to promptly
listen to difficulties and problems, find solutions, and implement new
regulations for enterprises.
Enterprises facing challenges
According to the Dong Nai Department of Customs, due to the influence of the
general macroeconomic situation of the world, the economic growth forecast in
2023 is at a low level. The world continues to be negatively affected by the
prolonged Russia-Ukraine conflict. In addition, many countries continue to tighten
monetary policy, increase interest rates, leading to a slowdown in growth,
economic stability, inflation control and making the country’s balance is full
of hidden risks.
To import-export enterprises, the situation of production and business
activities of many domestic enterprises faces a variety of difficulties and
challenges. Many enterprises had to suspend production, some could not hold out
and had to be dissolved. Difficulties cause state budget revenue to be sharply
reduced, especially value-added tax revenue from new investment projects,
projects to expand production and import tax-free machinery and equipment to
create fixed assets in the province reached rock bottom.
Ms. Tran Thi Minh Hong, Head of Accounting Department of an import-export
enterprise in Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park shared, from the beginning of the year
until now, the company's orders have been reduced, affecting production and
business. To overcome the current difficult period, the company is trying to
keep workers with old orders. At the same time, the company is also exploiting
more import-export markets to increase export volume.
By the end of June 2023, Dong Nai's state budget revenue reached over VND 8.5
trillion, reaching nearly 40% of the assigned estimate, down 31.5% over the
same period.
Supporting Import-Export Enterprises
With efforts to increase interaction and dialogue with businesses, especially, recently,
all Customs-related procedures have been carried out in the digital space, both
ensuring the prevention of epidemics and creating favorable conditions for enterprises
to circulate goods at a faster pace.
According to the leader of the Department of Customs, the time for customs clearance
of import and export goods at the Department has been shortened by more than
half compared to before. There are procedures for such as export goods only take
more than 4 minutes instead of nearly 22 minutes like previously. Those results
have reflected the efforts of the Department of Customs in reforming
administrative procedures to support businesses. The Department has gradually
improved the satisfaction level of enterprises through service quality. With
the thought that enterprises as partners and are no longer the subjects of
management as before, so the accompanying, sharing and supporting of enterprises
from the Department is improved day by day.
Attending the meeting between the Department of Customs and import-export enterprises
and businesses, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee Vo Tan Duc said that
businesses in the area are becoming more and more attached and have made many
important contributions to the development of the province. Thereby, the Vice
Chairman also assessed that in the future, although there are still many
difficulties, it is expected that there will be many opportunities for the
development of enterprises in Dong Nai province. As a result, the Department of
Customs needs to put more efforts to help businesses overcome immediate
difficulties and seize opportunities in the future.
