The mechanical industry, the mainstay manufacturing industry in industrial production will continue to be selected for modernization

In addition, the production of industrial facilities is rearranged in the direction of concentration, avoiding spontaneous development affecting sustainability in the long run.

Encouraging the development of high-tech
According to the Dong Nai Planning Project to 2030, with a vision to 2050, Dong Nai is in the top of the country with high-tech industries, which are the source of growth of the economy. In particular, the province focuses on supporting industries for high-value industries in the country and the world, while maintaining the strong growth momentum of the remaining key industry groups. The foundation for Dong Nai province's industry to make a breakthrough is advances in science and technology, application of the 4.0 industry model, and smart production to production and business activities, value enhancement, sustainable growth and perfecting the value chains of key industries and sectors.

According to Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Hoang of the Provincial People's Committee, Dong Nai's policy is to selectively attract investment in industries and fields into existing and newly established industrial parks in the province. In which, focusing on attracting supporting industries, hi-tech industries and initially forming supporting and hi-tech industrial zones.

The province's industrial development orientation will also contribute to selectively investing in projects with new technologies. Recently, when Amata Hi-tech Industrial Park was officially constructed, it quickly attracted many investors to visit, some businesses have rented land and were preparing to implement the project. This industrial park is the first model for the province to develop other industrial zones in the future.

Anh Duong Irradiation Technology Joint Stock Company (HCMC), one of the early investors in Amata Hi-tech Industrial Park, was expected to start their project this July. The project will utilize the most advanced radiation technology in the world today in the field of industrial sterilization of agricultural products, food, fruit quarantine, medical sterilization, and at the same time serving research, development and application of radiation technology in production and manufacturing to create new and high-tech materials… Mr. Nguyen Quoc Truong, Director of this company shared that Dong Nai would still have a strong attraction to domestic and foreign enterprises. When invested in Dong Nai, he believed and expected local policies in the coming time.

Production must be in the centralized area
Reconfiguring and restructuring industrial production is an important task to meet the modern and sustainable development. However, in reality, the development of industrial production in Dong Nai still has many problems to be solved.

Specifically, apart from the small number of domestic enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises that have the potential to enter the industrial park, most of the remaining small and medium sized units still lack production land and cannot afford to enter the area. In addition, the land area in industrial zones ready for lease is still very small, thus requiring the province to make efforts to create additional parks to catch up with the strong investment shift that is taking place.

According to the Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Linh, the lack of industrial land bank will affect investment attraction, economic development, and reduce the competitiveness of Dong Nai. Therefore, relevant units need to have solutions, in the immediate future, to immediately deal with problems in terms of premises in existing industrial zones. Provincial leaders have asked localities to have their own programs to develop industrial land bank. The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee affirmed that it is certain that Dong Nai will have to relocate production facilities to the centralized planning area. Accordingly, gradually limit and proceed to terminate the licensing of projects located outside industrial zones and clusters.

According to businesses in the area, in order to create motivation to promote enterprises to develop and attract production to concentrated areas, it is necessary to develop supportive policies. In which, speeding up the establishment of new industrial zones and clusters and supporting relocation costs, land rental fees, infrastructure... in a reasonable manner.
