With the strong development of urbanization, Dong Nai as well as other provinces and cities in the region are moving towards building smart cities. Recently, some businesses have expressed interest and proposed building smart urban models in the areas where their projects are being implemented.
First of all, one big business from Thailand is Amata Group. After successfully investing in Amata Industrial Park (Bien Hoa City), Amata Group continues to invest in Long Thanh High-Tech Industrial Park and Urban - Service Area (Long Thanh District) with an area of over 1 thousand hectares. In Dong Nai, Amata has a Long Thanh Urban - Service Area project with an area of 760 hectares, with the purpose of building an urban area to serve experts and working people in Long Thanh hi-tech industrial park as well as neighboring and anticipate the development of the airport. In October 2019, Amata proposed converting this urban-service project into a smart city project. Accordingly, this urban-service area is in the stage of compensation and site clearance. After the province's approval and conversion procedures are implemented, starting from 2020, Amata will proceed to build a smart city.
Another business is Keppel Land Vietnam. In Dong Nai, Keppel Group has invested in real estate projects in Long Hung New Urban Area (Bien Hoa City). According to the representative of Keppel Land Vietnam, Dong Nai has a large population and a developed industry, so the Group invests in real estate to create a smart urban with a sporty and convenient appearance.
Not only international enterprises but also large domestic enterprises are also interested in this area. At the end of 2019, the Aqua City project of Nova Land Group with a large scale of more than 600 hectares under the smart city model was also introduced to investors. This project is surrounded by a large river system such as Dong Nai, Buong and Trong rivers and is developed under the model of smart ecological urban to meet the needs of quality green living.
Building a smart city is a consistent policy of Dong Nai and the locality needs the cooperation of enterprises. Dong Nai is eager to find investors in the field of sustainable real estate to create smart urban areas. This is to create conditions to contribute to the achievement of the goal of building a smart city in the province. The province leader strongly supports enterprises implementing smart city projects and will create favorable conditions for project implementation. However, before conducting construction of urban areas in the direction of smart cities, enterprises must do well in resettlement for people whose land is recovered.
