Vegetables of Tan Yen Clean
Vegetable Cooperative are transported to wholesale markets.
Dau Giay wholesale market operates from 17-20 hours daily. Currently, most kiosks are rented. Small traders trading in markets including localities inside and outside the province participate, with a variety of products from the provinces: Lam Dong, Ninh Thuan, Ben Tre, Long An, and so on.
Output for local agricultural products
Dau Giay wholesale market has created favorable conditions for small traders from localities in the province to trade in a concentrated manner, so retailers in small markets have the opportunity to buy many items at the market with quite convenient wholesale prices.
Tan Yen Fresh Vegetable Cooperative of An An Anh, Director of Cooperative - was one of the first units to hire kiosks to make vegetable granaries at Dau Giay market after the market was inaugurated. Ms. Anh said that on average, she sells about 3-5 tons of fruits and vegetables daily, the peak can be up to 10 tons. Ms. Vu Thi Quy, a vegetable seller at a small market place in Dau Giay IP, said that since the day of the wholesale market, Ms. Quy often takes the goods from Tan Yen Fresh Vegetable Cooperative to sell at a ‘softer’ price, so she also has more profit. According to Ms. Quy, before having a wholesale market, she had to buy it from a stall selling big vegetables, or to take to the gardens to buy a little each thing is very time consuming and costly, sometimes to buy for sale 2-3 days inventory so the amount of vegetables worn out due to damage is quite large. However, since the wholesale market, Ms. Quy only needs to go to the market to buy everything she needs to sell - very quickly. She only buys enough to sell during the day, so the goods are always fresh, and not damaged much.
Recently, the booths of Dau Giay wholesale market have been filled with many new traders, most of them are from other localities in the province such as: Long Khanh City, Tan Phu District, Dinh Quan, Vinh Cuu,…At the beginning, although the sales volume was not much, it was still quite stable, the products were more diversified, so it attracted more customers.
Only registered to rent kiosks to sell spices and vegetables at the wholesale market for over 1 month, Tran Van Phong's stall (located in Tan Phu District) has also started to have stable customers. Mr. Phong said, although the number of customers is not much, but there are already acquaintances so every day also sold regularly from a few dozen to a few hundred. Phong hopes that next time, the number of his products and customers will increase.
Attracting agricultural products from many provinces in the region
Wholesale markets at rush hour
In addition to the local small agricultural businesses, Dau Giay wholesale market also attracts a lot of small traders trading agricultural products of many provinces in the Western region, Lam Dong, Phan Thiet, Ninh Thuan...
Mr. Ha Nhat Thien, owner of Ben Tre's fruit bowl, said that he came from Ben Tre and provided Western fruits such as sapote, watermelon ..., with the average daily consumption is 1-2 tons of fruit. Mr. Thien shared that the number of visitors to the wholesale market depends on the crowded days or sparsely. At the time of the ‘full moon’ day, at the end of the month, the number of customers is quite large, including many retail customers; In normal days, retailers often come and take in to sell in the day. Explaining the opening of a fruit shop at Dau Giay market, Mr. Thien said that his family of fruit bowl business for many years in Ben Tre has quite a lot of customers in the provinces of Dong Nai, Binh Thuan, Nha Trang..., so he decided to open an additional fruit warehouse in Dau Giay to make it easier for distant customers to travel and also seek opportunities to expand the business for his family.
Mr. Vy Duc Khoi, a trader of fruits from Binh Thuan province, said that in the past, he had to go to Ho Chi Minh City and Western provinces to get goods to sell to other small businesses. However, for more than 2 years now, since Dau Giay market, Mr. Khoi only went to 1 market to be able to collect many fruits, vegetables and fruits. Each shipment is a truck, cutting hundreds of kilometers to the western provinces, saving him money and transportation very smoothly. “In my opinion, the market operates a little short time. At other wholesale markets, the operation time is very long, so we have more time to choose needed items. I hope in the near future, the market will operate longer because currently only works from 2-3 hours in the evening, making distant customers quite updated when buying.” – Mr. Khoi also said.
