system gradually revived with the inherent appearance. Many works after
restoration and embellishment have promoted its historical value, meeting the
tourism needs.
Actively in the restoration and embellishment
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, there are more than 1,500 monuments in the province, of which 54 are ranked. Most of the monuments are religious and religious architectural works of high artistic and historical value such as Bien Hoa Citadel, Bien Hoa Provincial Party Committee base, Binh Truoc meeting house, Nguyen Tri Phuong temple, Buu Phong pagoda, Buu Quang pagoda - national historical monument of Trinh Hoai Duc tomb, etc., were also embellished.
Deputy Director of the Provincial Museum Nguyen Van Nam said that with the attention of the Provincial Party Committee and People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, the restoration and restoration of relics has been promoted, taking place regularly and continuously. Relics showing signs of degradation are subject to actual inspection by the provincial authorities, seeking restoration and embellishment plans. Up to now, the whole province has more than 2/3 of the ranked monuments have been restored and embellished with a total budget of up to hundreds of billion. Many constructions have come into operation effectively such as: Tan Hiep Prison, Hang Gon megalithic tomb, etc.
Mr. Huynh Huu Nghia - Acting Head of the Ong Temple's management board, excitedly said that before 2008, the Ong Temple was seriously degraded. After being concerned by the province, investing in restoration and embellishment of Ong temple is now spacious. “Local people and tourists from near and far come to visit and offer incense, especially on holidays and New Year. We are delighted and excited by the attention of the authorities. Hopefully, in the coming time, there will be many more restored and embellished relics becoming attractive destinations like Ong Temple” - Mr. Nghia shared.

Inaugurated in 2018, the Monument and Traditional Souvenir Cluster at the Monument Complex of Bien Hoa Provincial Party Committee U1 (Thanh Binh Commune, Trang Bom District) has been attracting people to visit and learn about its history. The building is viewed from afar like an eternal fire station, the part of which is a line of reliefs and a monument of flame - showing the solidarity between the infantry and artillery forces. In particular, the project also shows the contribution of the revolutionary base of the Kinh, Hoa and Nung ethnic groups to the communication and ambulance activities in the area based on the most severe period (1965-1975).
From the beginning of January 2020, Nguyen Huu Canh temple relics officially "groundbreaking" started to expand, renovate and embellish after years (starting from 2013) of conducting surveys, assessing the status quo, proposing plans. This project is invested by the provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, VICONARC., JSC as the design unit; The constructing unit is Joint Venture of Cefinar.,JSC and THANG LONG IAC., JSC, which expected to be completed in 2022.
In Vinh Cuu District, Dong Nai Culture and Nature Reserve has been implementing an investment project to repair, renovate construction items of the War Zone D symbol at the crossroads into 3 relics: Central Committee of Southern Region, Suoi Linh Tunnels relics and bases of the Southeastern Party Committee Area; upgrade the display house, build a beer house, renovate the existing toilets of the South East Region Party Committee Base.
Creating resilience for tourism development
Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Kim Bang said that in recent years, the Department has advised the province to carry out many restoration and embellishment works to build new relics. This work is taken regularly and continuously. Besides the capital from the provincial budget, a number of projects have mobilized funding from socialization. For over a year, the province has decentralized management of monuments to localities. With the local restoration works needing the Cultural Advisory branch, the branch will have an advisory council, actively support the local restoration and embellishment in accordance with the provisions of the Cultural Heritage Law.

Currently, restoration and embellishment of new monuments not only preserve and promote the value of monuments commensurate with the stature and historical significance, but also contribute to the development of local tourism. The monument after being restored and put into operation will become a tourist destination serving the needs of visiting, researching and learning in the future. Along with that, mobilizing resources from the community will contribute to creating a positive change in cultural socialization; It adds meaning in the traditional education for young generations today.
Acting director of Tran Bien Literature Center - Tran Trung Tuyen said that since the work of the Cultural Celebrity Garden project was in operation, it has attracted a large number of pupils, students, people and tourists from everywhere to visit the Temple of Literature to visit and study. “Statue garden is one of the beautiful, elaborate and widespread art works. In particular, many elementary, junior high and high schools in the province have organized for students to visit, bring incense to the ancestors, etc. Hence, it contributes to improving the knowledge and awareness of preserving traditional culture for the children." – said Mr. Tuyen.
It can be said that historical and cultural relics are a valuable "treasure", reflecting the process of formation and development of Bien Hoa - Dong Nai region over 320 years. Therefore, the promotion of restoration and embellishment of monuments is an important contribution in preserving and promoting the values of the monuments. “In the coming time, the cultural industry has planned to link with tourism business units to bring tourists to the monument sites, especially relics associated with beliefs, spirituality which aims to meet the needs of learning and enjoying the people and visitors to Dong Nai.” - Director of Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Kim Bang emphasized.
