On July 18th , at the provincial
conference and event center, the Central Council for Theory and
Criticism of Literature and Art, organized opening the training course
of Theory and Criticism of Literature and Art for central specialized
unions, newspapers, magazines and universities of culture and arts in
31 southern provinces (from Da Nang). Comrades: associate professor, Dr.
Nguyen Hong Vinh, chairman of the Central Council for Theory and
Criticism of Literature and Art; associate professor, Dr. Dao Duy Quat
standing vice chairman of the Central Council for Theory and Criticism
of Literature and Art, Le Hong Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the
provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Thanh Tri, Deputy Chairman of the
provincial Party Committee attended the opening ceremony.

Making an opening speech at the training course, Mr. Nguyen Hong Vinh, chairman of the Central Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Art: After more than 25 years of innovation, when the great economic achievements has contributed to the improvement of people's material lives, literature and arts have also achieved a number of significant achievements, with a lot of good work in all types of literature and arts, etc. However, generally literature and arts haven’t met the public demand of arts which is growing rapidly and improving day by day. One of the causes leading to the gaps and weaknesses was summed up in Ministry of Politics’ Resolution 23 on "Continue to build and develop literature and arts in the new era" upon 3 aspects: theory and criticism activity; issues of staff training and fostering; management and direction.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Vinh also said: To perform the functions assigned by the Secretary Board; to contribute to the effective implementation of Resolution 23 of Ministry of Politics, the activity of Central Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Art has been oriented as three main tasks, which are: scientific activities which are held to discuss and exchange issues in theory and criticism of all the specialized literature and arts in the forms of workshops, scientific seminars; making favorable conditions for scientific projects and schemes of culture, arts, supporting scientific research at state level to be deployed; holding events to considering the articles, the studies of literature and arts theory and criticism for annual awards. Besides, literature and arts must take part in fighting against wrong and deviate theoretical perspective in order to contribute to the rich and healthy life ... and promptly handle issues raised in the activities of literature and arts in the new era; further enhance the training work for the people who work in the field of literature and arts theory and criticism.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Le Hong Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee expressed the joy when Dong Nai is the host unit to hold the training course of Literature and Art Theory and Criticism. The Comrade also said that, It is very meaningful to the set up the training course for the people who work in the field of literature and arts, contributing to the effective implementation of the objectives and tasks set by the Party and State.
Under the program agenda, for 4 days of the training course (from 18th to 21st of July), the trainees will be lectured many topics related to theoretical work, literary and arts criticism by leading experts.
