The Provincial Party Executive Board session 8 held the 12th conference.

Delivering opening speech at the conference, Tran Dinh Thanh, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee emphasized “ Although  a lot of difficulties emerged, especially inflation that influenced production, business, and people’s life much, with high determination of the whole political system  and all woks of life, the socio-economic situation in the province has still developed remarkably. Particularly, the gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 15.3 %; state budget revenue reached an estimated 58 percent of the year’s target, much higher than the same period last year; foreign investment attraction rose significantly, a 44% excess of objective of the year’s resolution .  

Many aspects of the society have had a lot of progress and security and politics have been stable. However, each field still has a lot of shortcomings. One concern has been the slow progress rate of deploying investment in fundamentally constructing key projects. The transfer rate of trade and service density in the economic structure hasn’t met demand. Managing natural resources and environment in many places hasn’t been taken seriously yet. The Party committee and authorities in all levels haven’t really concentrated on developing agriculture and countryside. The rate of planning and constructing resettlement area hasn’t followed the progress rate of projects, influencing much life of people in the land for clearance.  

With high determination to fulfill successfully major target and tasks in 2008, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee requested Provincial Party Executive Board to discuss deeply about difficulties and challenges of the provincial economy in the last half of this year.  

The conference listened to reported on results of inspecting the Party in the fist half and missions in the last half.

In the afternoon, the conference focused on discussing, reporting, evaluating implementation of the resolution 08-NQ/TU issued by the Provincial Party Committee in the first half and determining the tasks in the last half.

The current conference of Provincial Party Executive Board approved decision of the Central Party Executive Committee about appointing Tran Van Vinh- Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airlines to become a member of the Provincial Party Executive Board term 2005-2020 and introduced him to hold the office as vice-chairman of the provincial People’s Committee.
