Mushroom growing has appeared in Dongnai for over 20 years and there are 1,397 mushroom-growers in 26 communes/wards of 11 districts, town and Bien Hoa City. More than 9000 local people have been employed and not less than 30 tons of fresh mushrooms are produced every year. A large number of jelly ear fungi are exported. Other kinds of fungi like Lingzhi, abalone, straw mushrooms are mainly sold in Ho Chi Minh City’s market. However, Mushroom-growing in the province has experienced difficulties because some of diseases of mushrooms have not been treated and the production scale was small, which also leads to products most of which have low value and are subject to high risks.
