The 7th Dongnai Farmers’ Congress (term 2008-2013) held.

The Congress view.

The congress had to sum up, evaluate achievements as well as limitations in the task of Association and emulation movement of farmers over the last five years, put forward  direction, objective, major tasks in the term 2008-2013 to renovate content and working mode of the Association, bring solidarity tradition of peasant class into full play for the course of agricultural and rural industrialization and modernization of Dongnai Province.

Over the last five years, the whole province has added over 68,844 new members, raising the total members to 209,009, reaching 61.9 % of farmers

 at the age of 18 and above. That included 160,409 members often taking part in the association, accounting for 80.3% and 88,400 core members  , gaining 42.2%. Besides development in terms of quantity and quality of members, the Farmers’ Association at all levels also concentrates on building the strong association, consolidating the members of the association with improving knowledge, professional skill and politics ability of members at grassroots executive committee.  At present, there are 125 strong association foundations ( up 19 foundations against 2003.), 34 fair ones and no average ones in the province. As for Farmers’ Association at district level, there are 6 strong foundations, and 5 fair ones. Especially, over the last five years, association at all levels introduced 2,216 outstanding cadres to the association and 627 of them were admitted to Vietnam Communist Party.

The Presidium.

The congress elected new executive committee consisting of 35 members and 19 representatives to attend the 5^th National Farmers’ Congress ( term 2008-2013) that will be held by the end of this year in Hanoi. The Executive Committee of the provincial Farmers’ Association  (term 7) had the first meeting session and elected the executive committee with 10 people: Tran Nhu Do,re-elected Chairman. Tran Huu Thien and Tran Van Quang were elected as Vice-chairpersons.

On this occasion, 30 individuals were awarded certificates of merit for their contributions to the development of the association over the last five years.
