Over 1,166 houses built during campaigns launched by the fatherland front committees at various levels.

On January 1st morning, Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee held the twelfth conference, term 6 (open) to review missions of the front commitee in 2008 and discuss major tasks to fulfill in 2009. Attending the conference were Deputy Secretary of the provincial standing party committee Le Hong Phuong, Vice-Chairperson of the provincial People’s Committee Ao Van Thinh.

In past years, besides propagandizing policies of the Party and government, the Fatherland Front Committee at various levels have continuously propagandized and mobilized people to fulfill successfully major tasks, especially task of caring for the poor. So far, the province has built 1340 houses for poor ethnic minorities (each house worth over US$1,000).With support from its associations, 1,166 houses of compassion were built; 101 houses were renovated. They also presented gifts, held medical checkups and delivered medicine freely to the poor, all worth over US$90,000.

Addressing the conference, Le Hong Phuong highly appreciated achievements of Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee at various levels. He also requested the front committee at various levels should promote more propaganda and diversify forms of gathering people in order to bring into full play the national unity bloc, etc.
