The view of the working session

The Steering Committee said that the province finished the census at 20:00 PM – April 17. Particularly, the number of households filled in the census slips is 631,194, accounting for 102.08%. At the last count, the number of population in the census is 2,438,084, accounting for 100.19%. There is an increase of 12.874% in difference between households and populations in the province due to the fact that the households divide themselves into smaller ones. Noticeably, there is a larger increase in the number of population in some districts than the original statistics (particularly an increase of 6,091 households and 19,942 populations in Bien Hoa, of 2,135 households and 7,032 populations in Long Thanh and of 843 households and 1,341 populations in Nhon Trach...). It is mainly due to the fact that many households divide themselves into smaller ones. In addition, the statistical report made before April 1 indicates that some local authorities have missed a number of households in the census... Meanwhile, some districts have put a lower number of populations than the real one on the census slips.

At the meeting, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee – Vo Van Mot – highly appreciated the efforts of all sectors, regions and individuals in the process of performing their tasks in the census of population and houses in 2009. He reminded that all statistical data collected to transfer to the central government must be kept confidential. On the whole, this data just reflects the number of households and population. So, the other areas like houses and residential life need paying more attention to in the coming time.
