The Third Discussion Meeting: List of 15 Candidate Deputies into the 13th National Assembly and of 134 Candidate Delegates into the 8th Dong Nai People’s Council

On the morning of April 14, Dong Nai Fatherland Front Committee held the 3rd discussion meeting to make an official list of candidate deputies into the 13th National Assembly and of candidate delegates into the 8th Dong Nai People’s Council VIII in 2011-2016 period.

The meeting was attended by Vice Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee Tran Van Vinh, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Council and Head of Dong Nai Election Committee Huynh Chi Thang, and member units, and organizations.

The meeting is voting to pass the list of 134 candidate delegates into People’s Council by a show of hands

Dong Nai Fatherland Front Committee’s report said that after the second discussion meeting levels of the Standing Committees at Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee collected local voters’ opinions on candidates into the National Assembly and Dong Nai People’s Council.

Specifically, 1,078 out of 1.242 voters are called for to attend the meeting to collect voters’ opinions on candidate deputies into the National Assembly accounting for 86.80 percent.

There was an average of 60 voters at each meeting.

The location with the biggest number of voters – 89 out of 95 voters is Tan Cang Hamlet, Phuoc Tan commune, Bien Hoa city.

The location with the smallest number of voters – 42 out 62 voters is Quarter 2, Tang Nhon Phu A ward, District 9, Ho Chi Minh city.

There were 94 voters giving opinions at the meeting.

Their opinions showed a straight, sincere and open attitude and mainly expressed a good faith in nominated candidates.

As a result, the candidates nominated by their agencies, units and organizations got voters’ strong faith (98.39 percent to 100 percent of voters show their faith in candidates).

For self-nominated candidates, 43 out of 80, 15 out of 57, 4 out of 51 and 48 out of 48 voters voted for Mr. Nguyen Van Khuong, Mr. Ho Dinh Thai Hoa, Mr. Do Trong Phan, and Mr. Ngo Thach Tin, respectively.

For the meetings to collect local voters’ opinions on candidates into Dong Nai People’s Council, 9,382 out of 11,168 voters were asked to attend the meetings, accounting for 84.01 percent.

There was an average of 69 voters to attend each meeting. The location with the biggest number of voters – 200 to attend the meetings is Xuan Trung ward, Long Khanh town.

The location with the smallest number of voters – 41 is Hamlet 4, Song Trau commune, Trang Bom district.

292 voters’ straight opinions expressed a tremendous faith in nominated candidates.

As a result, 133 candidates nominated by their agencies, units and organizations got voters’ enormous faith (from 97.6 percent to 100 percent at the meeting vote for them)

For two self-nominated candidates, Mr. Nguyen Van Quang himself withdrew from the election whereas 43 out of 80 voters present at the meeting agreed to vote for Mr. Nguyen Van Khuong.

In a spirit of democracy and responsibility, the meeting had a frank discussion, and agreed upon the list of 15 official candidates into the National Assembly (non-Party, female, intellectual, ethnic minority, religious, young and re-elected candidates account for 26.67 percent, 40 percent, 100 percent, 6.67 percent, 26.67 percent, and 20  percent, respectively and of 134 candidates into Dong Nai People’s Council (female, non-Party, young, intellectual, ethnic minority, and religious candidates account for 36.57 percent, 12.68 percent, 14.93 percent, 99.25 percent, 2.98 percent, and 0.75 percent, respectively.

After the meeting, Dong Nai Fatherland Front Committee continued the completion of the minute and the list of candidates nominated into the National Assembly and Dong Nai People’s Council, submitting the list to the Central Election Council, the Standing Committee at the Central Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Dong Nai Election Committee and performing the next steps.
