Dong Nai holds a solemn ceremony to mark the 120th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh and the 20th anniversary of his being recognized to be “Vietnamese Hero of National Liberation and Great Man of Culture” by UNESCO

    After the ritual of incense burning, Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee – Vo Van Mot, on behalf of Dong Nai leadership, made a speech to reminisce about President Ho Chi Minh’s life, career, revolutionary morality, and enormous devotion to the people of Vietnam. The speech affirmed that under the leadership of the Party all the people of Vietnam keep pursuing Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh ideology and that the people of Vietnam are making efforts to promote Ho Chi Minh heritage, bring about comprehensive reforms, expedite the process of industrialization-modernization and international integration and lead the country towards development for a strong country with rich people,

for a civilized, democratic and fair society and for steady advancement towards socialism. Over the past years, Dong Nai have attempted to preserve and promote Ho Chi Minh heritage and overcome difficulties and challenges to obtain important achievements: high sustainable economic growth, social and cultural progress in many aspects, improvement of people’s spiritual and materialistic life, strengthened national unity bloc and so on. Also, the speech stressed that to show utmost respect and deep gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh levels of Party committee and local government and grassroots to provincial unions were supposed to strengthen dissemination so that  the “Study and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s ethical example” campaign would gradually go into people’s lives.

    At the ceremony, the Steering Committee of the “Study and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s ethical example” campaign reported on the achievements which it has obtained the past years. Dong Nai did not honor 61 collectives and 121 exemplary individuals until 2009. On this occasion, the Steering Committee continued commending and rewarding 43 exemplary collectives

and individuals and doing the same thing for individuals and collectives winning prizes in the contest to write about those who study and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s ethical example. Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee awarded certificates of merit to two Robocon teams of the Lac Hong University, who won the first and third prizes at the National Robot Contest. In the meantime, the Steering Committee initiated the third phase of the campaign to write about those who study and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s ethical example.

    On behalf of Dong Nai leadership, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee – Dinh Quoc Thai launched an emulation movement, calling for the determination of officers, soldiers and people to reach and exceed targets and tasks 2010.

    Secretary of Dong Nai Youth Union, Bui Xuan Thong, as a representative for Dong Nai youth, delivered a speech to respond to the emulation movement called "Dong Nai youth study and follow Uncle Ho’s teachings." The ceremony ended with a special music performance, "Uncle Ho - Immense Love."
