Started construction of 30 thousand tons pier at Go Dau

​In the morning of September 23, at Go Dau port (Phuoc Thai Commune, Long Thanh District), Dong Nai Port Joint Stock Company held a groundbreaking ceremony for the pier project capable of receiving vessels of 30 thousand tons load.


​The pier includes 1 main wharf and 1 leading bridge. The total length of main bridge is 250m, the width is 22m, the leading bridge is 32m long and 12m wide. The construction has a total investment of about 200 billion VND, expected to be completed and put into use in September, 2015.

The 30 thousand ton pier projects belongs investment project phase 1 Go Dau B Port, when put into use will meet the needs of cargo handling rapidly growing of enterprises in Dong Nai as well as South East region. This port is also selected to serve for the operation of the plant Alumin Tan Rai, Lam Dong.



As planned since 1998, This pier scale can receive ships of 15 thousand tons, however this is only suitable for freight demand at the time of approval. Therefore, to match the detailed planning of the port group 5, and scale of shipping channel route Vung Tau-Thi Vai, section area at Go Dau area for for large vessels, Dong Nai port has proposed to adjust the pier size to 30 thousand tons.

Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Dinh Quoc Thai identified, this is the largest pier project in Dong Nai so far. The project will contribute to promoting economic development in the regio, especially carriage of goods by container. The investment in this building will create a premise for Dong Nai port to develop further in the future, striving to be one of the largest handling capacity port of the country.
