Provincial industrial production reached over VND17.3 thousand billion in the first quarter of this year

        The production value of central state-owned area attained VND1,857 billion, up 18.8% compared to the same period last year; the production value of non-state-owned area reached VND2,382.25 billion, up 21.2%; and that of local state-owned area reached VND12,540 billion, up 22.26%. At the local state-owned area alone, the production value decreased by 6.9% against the same period. The reasons are that in the first quarter of this year, the production value of Dong Nai Tobacco Company and Dong Nai and Dong Nai import-export processing agricultural products and foods company (DONAFOODS) gained over 50% of total industrial output in the local state-owned area, but these companies has met such difficulties as tobacco price has increased from VND29,000/kg up to VND37,000/kg, and raw cashew nut price this year has risen from VND8,500/kg to VND16,000/kg.
